Chris Burgess

                                  Chris Burgess studied Theatre Arts at Birmingham University before embarking on a career that straddles theatre, the media world and              

                                   education. He was artistic director of 'Flying Pig Theatre-in-Education Company' for four years (writing eight plays for youth), worked as a       

                                   producer for TV-am, contributed to Radio 5's educational programming, produced radio advertisements, and was Head of Performing                   

                                   Arts at Barnet College.  

 

                                   His theatre writing credits include: 'Girls Who Wear Glasses' , a jazz cabaret (National tour), 'Dishonorable Ladies', a one woman show for

                                   Honor Blackman, (National tour, and West End); book and lyrics for 'Tales My Lover Told Me' (King's Head Theatre, Islington); book     

                                   and lyrics for 'The Last Fattybottypuss in the World' (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre); book for 'It's Only Make Believe' (Gatehouse
                                  Theatre, Highgate).

 

He wrote book and lyrics for 'Me & Shahrazad' (music by Denise Wright) which received a workshop at South Bay Playhouse, Los Angeles and The Theatre Museum, Covent Garden. His play 'Sophie Tucker's One Night Stand' received a production at the New End Theatre, Hampstead, and then transferred to the Kings Head Theatre, Islington. He has completed book, music and lyrics for 'Sleeping Arrangements', based on the novel by Madeleine Wickham. Currently developing a new musical with music by Denise Wright: 'Death and Plenty', based on the novel by Brian Leyden.

 

His TV writing credits include episodes of the Carlton soap opera 'London Bridge.' His radio writing credits include a five part drama serial for Radio 4 'The Invincible Violet' starring Sylvia Syms, broadcast in July 2004.

Dave Hudson

 

                                   Dave Hudson was been writing plays and getting produced steadily since 1990. With Denise Wright, he has written four musicals. JASON
                                   & THE ARGONAUTS (also with Peter Anthony) was a selection for the Stages Festival of New Musicals and was a selection for the
                                   inaugural Sony Global Search for New Musicals in Cardiff. JASON also received a week of try-outs at the Bellairs Playhouse, Guildford          
                                   in Nov 2003. Denise and Dave¹s joyful musical SAINT PETER'S UMBRELLA was produced at Theatre Building Chicago in 2005.
                                   Denise and Dave also wrote JACOB'S PILLOW (formerly No Stone Unturned) which was workshopped at YMT:UK in 2006 and is
                                   slated for a 2008 production at the Encore Theatre Company.

With Paul Libman, Dave has written five musicals. Three have been selected for the Stages Festival of New Musicals, and Paul and Dave are the first
team to ever win the prestigious Richard Rodgers Award twice for two different musicals (DUST & DREAMS 2005, MAIN-TRAVELLED ROADS, 2007). Paul and Dave enjoy a close association with the Wisconsin Theatre, AFT, which has produced three of their musicals (MUSKIE LOVE, 2004, 2005, A CABIN WITH A VIEW summer 2007, MAIN-TRAVELLED ROADS, Fall, 2007) Other Musicals include TRAIN, three one-act musicals with composers Denise Wright, Paul Libman, and Jon Steinhagen which was presented in workshop form at the RSAMD in Glasgow, Scotland (2004). BECKY THATCHER with Mark Sutton-Smith was part of the Open Door Rep summer program in summer 2005. In 2003, JUST SO with composer Leah Okimoto, based on the stories of Rudyard Kipling premiered at Open Door Rep and was also workshopped at the Genesius Guild in New York.

On the non-musical front, he is a two-time winner of the Warehouse Theatre National One-Act Competition. His one-act HARLEQUIN RHAPSODY, has been
mounted throughout the U.S. and has just been published by Brooklyn Publishing. In youth theatre, Dave¹s plays COYOTE THE TRICKSTER, and ANANSI
THE SPIDER have toured throughout the United States.
 

 

Peter Anthony

 

Peter has written two musicals with Denise Wright; DORIAN (Greenwich Theatre, 2000), and JASON & THE ARGONAUTS, which was developed by Theatre Building in Chicago, USA and performed at their Stages 2001 Festival, before going on to be showcased at the Cardiff International Festival of Musical
Theatre 2002 and featured on BBC Radio's Friday Morning Performance. JASON has also played to packed houses in Guildford and London's West End. Peter
is currently developing a new musical, Candy, the story of an Englishman abroad in New York.
