SYNOPSIS Jacob's Pillow is a legend that extends back to biblical times, originating in the desert with Jacob himself. The stone traveled to Spain, Ireland, then Scotland, where Kings were crowned upon it. In 1296, Edward the First conquered Scotland and his greatest prize was the Stone of Scone - Jacob's Pillow! So, why is this history important? It is important to know the background of this 340 pound stone because it all the more remarkable that four teenage students from Scotland were able to walk into Westminster Abbey on Christmas Day in 1950 and return the stone to Scotland. And that's when the fun really begins...
